2 Nominations!!

Well the word came out today that our production of Bye Bye Birdie was nominated for TWO Papermill Rising Star Awards!! YAY!!  We were nominated for the Educational Impact Award and the Theatre for Everyone Inclusion and Access Award.

The Educational Impact Award recognizes those schools which successfully connect the spring musical to the curriculum and utilize the musical to meet NJ State Department of Education Core Curriculum Content Standards for Visual and Performing Arts for its participants and the greater school population.  Our creative team creates a lesson plan each day where we not only plan our rehearsal but what activities we will learn and what skills we are sharpening.

The Rising Star “Theatre for Everyone” Inclusion & Access Award recognizes excellence in the promotion and practice of creative inclusion of students and adults with disabilities as performers, designers, musicians and production staff. Additionally, this award also seeks to recognize and reward a school that takes steps to ensure their performances are accessible to audiences with disabilities.  Being a special education teacher I can tell you that we open our arms and our curtain to any and all students and work to ensure that each cast and crew member participates in every aspect of the show.

I am very proud of our cast, crew and the fantastic creative team who makes my job so wonderful.

Thank you all!

Break a Leg,

Mr. F.
