Just a quick post! If you're anything like me, I enjoy spending a few days in NYC around Christmas (or whatever your winter holiday happens to be). There is nothing like it - the tree, the skating (not that I skate), the shopping and of course - my favorite - Broadway!
This holiday season, Broadway has some exciting shows to help you get into the mood, so if you're planning early, here are some shows I recommend...
- ELF THE MUSICAL - I saw this show in 2011 when it first appeared on the Great White Way. The show is exceptional and the music is really the best part! With music by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin and a book by Tony winners Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin this should be your #1 choice for a NY Holiday show! "Elf The Musical" will begin Nov. 9 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
- A CHRISTMAS STORY THE MUSICAL - You all know and love the movie and now the musical heads to Broadway! The story tells of Ralphie a Depression-era kid obsessed with receiving a new BB gun for Christmas (spoiler: He gets it! But as his mother always says "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out"). Music by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and Book by Joseph Robinette. "A Christmas Story: The Musical" will play the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre from Nov. 5 to Dec. 30.
- DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS - The classic holiday tale of the Grinch will return to the Theater at Madison Square Garden December 13 through 30.
- THE ROCKETTES' RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR - will return to Radio City.
